Supply chain design

Having come from a large multi discipline design practice, we are accustomed to integrating all aspects of the design at an early stage with each discipline providing appropriate inputs in a team approach to deliver fully functional buildings.

  • CDM Compliance – For small schemes, RSA can provide the services of CDM Co-ordinator under the CDM regulations, including vetting and preparation of risk assessments and method statements, and preparation of the H&S plan. Generally, and on larger projects, we prefer this service to be provided by others appointed directly by our client. The RIBA have published a useful guidance document to assist clients ‘A Clients Guide to Health & Safety for a Construction Project’.
  • Cost Consultancy – RSA provide partial or full Quantity Surveying services and cost advice through consultants that we are familiar in working with. This is considered an essential client service, whether high level initial advice for viability, a bill of rates or full measured quantities alongside agreeing monthly valuations payable to a contractor.
  • Planning Consultancy – through its association with experienced local planning consultants, RSA can provide the benefit of planning and development advice for initial feasibility studies and to augment design and access statements in terms of local policy, to accompany a planning application and help negotiate the the ever increasing obstacles through the submission.
  • Structural Engineering Design – RSA enjoy an excellent working relationship with local structural engineers who understand our approach and the way we work in finding the right structural solution for a particular building in terms of efficiency, cost and appearance.
  • Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Design – RSA enjoy similar working relationships with local M & E consultants who understand a lean approach to services and natural approach to building function and operation in exploring sustainable, passive and low impact solutions from the outset of design, to minimize cost, maximize fabric performance and reduce running costs and carbon emissions.
  • Acoustic Design – RSAs experience in the Education and Public building sector has emphasized the need for specialist acoustic design expertise in order to meet stringent standards of sound reduction, absorption and reverberation in public, teaching and performance spaces.
