An integrated design approach from first principles produces successful buildings that people want to live and work in. RSA can provide and co-ordinate the following design services:
- Master Planning – RSA approaches any design solution from the wider context of the project in its setting, together with a strategic analysis of the site constraints, influences, modes of access and desire lines, infrastructure, service and transport.
- Architectural Design – RSAs basic design philosophy is the application of the classic tests of fitness for purpose criteria, those of Commodity, Firmness and Delight. Architecture needs to be functional, soundly put together and harmoniously and visually pleasing.
- Building Regulations – RSA ensure that anticipated changes in Building Legislation are incorporated in the design process with as minimal impact as is possible to the construction, building operation, performance and use, in close co-operation with our Building Control partner.
- Interior Design – RSA consider internal space planning, human movement and anthropometric measurement to be an intrinsic and inclusive part of the normal building design process. Our supply chain Interior Designers can also present ideas for furniture, colour schemes, mood and sample boards.
- Landscape Design RSA consider external space planning and the juxtaposition of hard and soft landscaping to be an essential, contextual part of building design. Our supply chain Landscape Architects can produce imaginative layouts and planting schemes that bring human movement and external space together, connecting the building setting with both private and public realms.
- Building Conservation – Both partners have extensive experience of working with listed buildings, sensitive conversion and refurbishment projects and also church repair work and respect the changes that buildings go through over time, the appropriateness of sympathetic materials and detail.
