Case Study for Emergency Services – New Fire Station
The new Jubilee Fire Station at Carrow, situated off Martineau Lane, replaced the 1930s Bethel Street Station in the centre of Norwich to complete a strategic rationalization with three stations around the ring road.
A contemporary design, led by Michael Spicer at NPS, attached to a former public House within a Conservation Area and which had to be incorporated and now provides training and conference facilities.
The two-storey station has an improved training tower and houses a heavy rescue pump, personnel quarters and administration facilities. It also houses a swift water rescue team to enhance flood responses and also serves as a base for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
